The home environment, and the families that occupy it, play a primary role in the ongoing development of children and young people.
Be You uses the term ‘family’ to encompass parents, carers, extended family members and other adults involved in a child’s care. Family members don’t need to be biologically related or live with the child. They may include two-parent families, single parents, blended and step-families, rainbow families where at least one parent or carer identifies as LGBTQIA+, foster families, grandparents and kinship carers.
It's important for educators in early learning services, schools and school age care services to know how to work effectively, sensitively and confidentially with families to support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.
If you’re a school age care educator, modules in the primary school stream may be the most suitable for you.

Accreditation and endorsement
All registered teachers in every state and territory must ensure they have added their teacher registration number and state/territory
to the My Profile page.
In the ACT, completing Family Partnerships will contribute two (2) hours of ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) accredited professional learning addressing standard 7.3.2 Engage with the parents/carers of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and 3.7 Engage parents/carers in the educative process
